Ten Eighteen started two women’s cooperatives in 2014, currently employing 9 women and a teacher/supervisor. Our goal is EDUCATION first, teaching these women valuable tailoring skills that will help them support themselves and their families. We don’t want employees for life – we want to educate and train, and then send the women out to use those skills to grow their own businesses. Starting in January, 2016, Ten Eighteen and Ray of Hope Ministries in Namuwongo, Kampala, Uganda will be taking on young apprentices as well, extending our education program to young girls who are done with school but have no trade.
